Welcome to Bohiques! Bohiques was created as a warehouse of information about the Taino's and the literature written
about them.
Bohiques or behiques where the medicine man among the Taino tribe. They were also the main counselors to the caciques
or chief. They honored a strict code of ethics with their patients that allow the relatives of the sick
person to have the last word. If the patient died and the family belived the bohique lacked in his efforts they were permitted
to punish and even to kill the bohique. |
